2nd stage of Skawina Ring road

SKAWINA RING ROAD STAGE 2 - design and construction works on the segment between Energetyków street and trunk road no. 44 We are pleased to inform that on 10.05 this year, the 2nd stage of construction of Skawina Ring road will begin. A new GP class (Pol. główna przyspieszona - main express) road will be constructed, 2.2 km long. It will start at the junction with Energetyków street and end at the junction with Piłsudskiego street (trunk road no. 44). The new segment is aimed at directing road traffic out of the city and connecting nearby industrial areas. Stage 2 is supposed to finally finish this project and connect it to trunk road no. 44 in two places - additionally, a functional roundabout will be built, on the junction with Krakowska street, which will allow for a smooth exit from the ring road in the direction of Cracow - Stage 2 of Skawina Ring road construction will end the investment activities on trunk road no. 44 in the western part of Cracow agglomeration (one of the most busy routes in Lesser Poland). Therefore, this investment is important for hundreds of thousands of people travelling this road.
Below are the actions provided for in Stage 2 of Skawina Ring road construction.
1. Securing the continuity of road and pedestrian traffic for the duration of works (traffic organization for the duration of works).
2. Preparatory and demolition works.
3. Cutting down trees and bushes colliding with the project.
4. Bringing low-capacity ground soils to the required load-carrying capacity.
5. Groundwork (trenches, embankments).
6. Pavement construction on the ring road, side roads (including construction of noise-reducing pavement on sections 700 m long).
7. Construction of hard shoulders.
8. Construction and re-construction of sidewalks, bicycle paths, pedestrian-bicycle paths.
9. Construction of a bridge structure over the railway road, power grid trench and industrial waste dumping site.
10. Construction and re-construction of junctions in order to connect the roads crossing the ring road under construction.
11. Construction and re-construction of public exits and individual local distributor roads, if required.
12. Construction and re-construction of road drainage system, along with a system draining rainwater to flood pools.
13. Reinforcing embankments.
14. Construction of environment protection devices.
15. Securing and re-construction of foreign devices and terrain reinforcement.
16. Construction of new technical infrastructure, in particular road lighting, rain drains.
17. Installation of traffic safety devices.

Over PLN 60 million have been allocated for all the enterprises related to Skawina ring road. It will be constructed in the "Design and build" system by VISTAL S.A., MOST sp. z o.o., Polbud Pomorze sp. z o.o. consortium. The entire project will be completed at the end of 2018.
